Imphal: In a chilling incident in Imphal East district, RK Prithibi Singh was fatally shot on Saturday, as confirmed by local authorities. The incident took place in Tekcham, falling under the jurisdiction of Lamlai police station.
Reports from the scene described a grim scenario: Singh, blindfolded and with his hands bound behind his back, was executed at close range. The responsible party, according to a statement released, is the KCP (Progressive), a militant group currently proscribed.
The KCP (Progressive) has publicly admitted to the heinous act, accusing that Singh had been involved in espionage activities on behalf of security forces. They alleged that he had once been affiliated with militant groups but had later collaborated with surrendered insurgents to gather intelligence for law enforcement agencies.
