In a proactive step towards enhancing social welfare, the Department of Sericulture and the Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board, operating under the Department of Skills, Labour, Employment & Entrepreneurship, conducted a significant event at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal today.
The event, titled “Distribution of Benefits and Launching of Books,” saw the distribution of financial assistance amounting to Rs 29,65,000 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to 300 beneficiaries. The assistance is specifically earmarked for the education of children belonging to workers registered under the Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board.
This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to the welfare and development of the hardworking labor force of Manipur. By directly supporting the education of children from beneficiary families, the government aims to provide essential financial aid that will alleviate educational costs and contribute to the educational upliftment of the younger generation.
The event was also attended by State Social Welfare Minister Heikham Dingo, Power Minister Thongam Biswajit, Health Minister Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh, Education Minister Thounaojam Basantakumar, CAF&PD Minister L. Susindro, and various other MLAs and officials.
