In a disturbing incident at St. John Boarding School in Supaul district, a five-year-old nursery student brought a gun to school and shot a 10-year-old boy on Wednesday. The younger student had concealed the firearm in his bag and fired at the older child.
The injured boy, identified as Asif, sustained an arm injury and is now being treated at a local hospital. According to the injured student, he was shot while trying to intervene. “I was going to my class when he took out a gun from his bag and shot at me. I tried to stop him, but he fired at my hand,” he said, adding that there was no prior conflict between them.
In response to the incident, police have arrested the school’s principal and are investigating how such a serious security lapse occurred. They are also searching for the student who brought the gun and his father.
Parents have expressed their outrage through protests at the school. Authorities are now urging schools across the district to enforce stricter security measures, including regular checks of students’ bags.
Very unfortunate to hear , it should be solely responsible by the parents and guardians
parents should be arrested and held accountable for their child’s action.
Parent should be more care full with weapon!
