A team from the Kuki National Front-Military Council (KNF-MC), led by self-styled Commander German, also known as Thangjaral Haokip, was ambushed by unidentified gunmen in Churachandpur district, Manipur, on Friday evening.

The attack took place around 8 pm near the Molnom Endurance Library, according to police reports. During the brief but intense three-minute gunfight, a KNF-MC member named Stonic (28) sustained injuries. Commander German, however, emerged unscathed.

The assailants, believed to be armed and traveling in a Maruti Gypsy, managed to flee the scene. The injured cadre was swiftly transported to Churachandpur District Hospital for medical treatment.

In response to the incident, security forces, including police and paramilitary units, were quickly deployed to the area to ensure peace and stability. Manipur police have registered a case and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
