Itanagar: Three Myanmar nationals were arrested in Arunachal Pradesh’s Lohit district for illegally entering India. The individuals, Adeh Sadi Lisu (25), Akhi Yoha Lisu (22), and Ngwaphata Lisu (20), from Sago village in Myanmar’s Putao district, were taken to the Wakro police station, reported Senior Superintendent of Police Tumme Amo.
The detainees were found with country-made firearms, including a 5.56 rifle, a 7.62 mm long-barrel rifle, 26 live cartridges, and both Chinese and Indian currencies. They are charged under the Foreigners Act, the Passport (Entry into India) Act, and the Arms Act, the SP said.
SP Amo also noted that there was no evidence linking the suspects to the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) or any other banned groups. The individuals are being questioned by local police, the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB), the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and the Special Branch (SB).
Reports suggest the trio entered India via Vijaynagar and trekked for about a week to reach Wakro, during which they hunted a deer along the way. Adeh Sadi Lisu had previously entered India illegally last year and stayed for two months in Kathan village within the Wakro Circle.
Illegal firearm in another country without proper documents is a serious violation of the country law and order.
The govt should secure the border and ensure that India doesn’t become like the UK flooded with immigrants.
