Imphal, Aug 6: Th. Biswajit, Manipur’s Power Minister, stated on Tuesday that the results for the Group C and Group D recruitment tests for the Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) and Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) are expected to be released this year. This announcement came in response to a question from Congress MLA K. Ranjit during the state assembly session.
Minister Biswajit explained that the original plan was to release the results within two months of the exams. However, delays occurred due to factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, subsequent elections, and ongoing regional crises. The recruitment tests, which began in January 2020, saw 38,877 candidates for MSPDCL and 17,081 for MSPCL, vying for 907 positions.
The pandemic caused significant delays, with nearly two years lost to strict protocols and lockdowns. Further delays occurred due to the elections and a crisis in Manipur.
Minister Biswajit assured that the results are nearing completion but are undergoing thorough review to address any potential issues related to RTI applications or complaints. He emphasized the government’s dedication to a fair and transparent process.
I hope the result will be based on merit and not on bribery. Manipur student bodies should question the govt whenever appointments are made on false grounds. Our student bodies are more focus on students’ academic and politics rather than fighting for a fare means of job opportunities.
38,877 candidates for MSPDCL and 17,081 for MSPCL, for 907 positions!
I think the result out will take more time as it was conduct very unfairly as per my belief
