Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya Visits Churachandpur

Churachandpur:    Newly appointed Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited Churachandpur town on Monday, where he highlighted the need for peace and assured leaders that he would address the concerns of the Kuki community. 

After taking office on July 31, Acharya started his visit by initiating a Har Ghar Tiranga bike rally from the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Acharya was greeted by IGP Nishit Ujjwal and Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar. He then visited a relief camp at Molnom in the Tuibong Sub Division, managed by the Kuki Civil Council (KCC), where he interacted with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and distributed essential supplies such as wheelchairs, drinking water, sweets, and educational materials.

The governor met with representatives from the Zomi Council, Zomi Students Federation (ZSF), Kuki Inpi, and Hmar Inpui, who detailed the issues the community faces, particularly those stemming from recent conflicts. Additionally, Acharya interacted with students from Churachandpur Medical College and received a memorandum outlining their academic and administrative difficulties. His visit reflects his commitment to addressing local issues and promoting stability in the area.
