Kohima, Aug 20: A resolution has been reached between the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) and the NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango after a nearly month-long standoff over the imposition of a death penalty on an Angami contractor for unpaid taxes. The agreement followed a meeting facilitated by the Ceasefire Monitoring Board (CFMB) in Kohima on Tuesday.
According to the joint statement released after the meeting, the following decisions were made:

- The NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango agreed to unconditionally withdraw the imposition of capital punishment to the proprietor of M/s KKB Rülho with immediate effect.
- The NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango agreed to retract its directive given to the Angami contractors to cease activities and demobilize their manpower and machineries currently deployed across other districts of Nagaland with immediate effect.
- The NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango shall make it known to the public the identity of the person alias “Max Naga” and shall initiate appropriate disciplinary action against him on or before 15 days. Accordingly, the AYO shall withdraw its Non-Cooperation and recalling back of Angami workers from the NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango.
- In the meeting, the NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango expressed regret of the occurrence of the unfortunate issue.
The AYO also reiterated its support for the Angami Public Organisation’s 1993 resolution advocating for “One Government, One Tax.”
