Cotton University Earns NAAC A Grade, Vice-Chancellor Ranked Among World’s Top 2% Scientists

Guwahati:   Cotton University has been awarded an A grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), with a CGPA of 3.05 on a seven-point scale. This achievement reflects the university’s strong commitment to maintaining high standards in academics and education.

This marks Cotton University’s first cycle of accreditation as a university, making it the first institution in the northeastern region to receive such a prestigious grade.

Adding to its accomplishments, Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka has been named in Elsevier’s 2023 list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists, showcasing his significant contributions to scientific research.

Assam’s Cabinet and Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, congratulated Prof. Deka and Cotton University on this achievement. In a post on social media platform X, Pegu praised the institution’s dedication to research excellence, noting that the recognition reflects the research potential of universities in Assam.
