The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for free demographic updates to Aadhaar details through the MyAadhaar portal until December 14, 2024. This extension allows residents to update demographic details such as name, address, gender, and date of birth without any charge on the online platform. However, if updates are made through physical service centers, a processing fee may be charged by the service provider.
The requirement for Demographic Update are well define for Digital-Do-It-Yourself (DDIY):To update your demographic details, you will need to provide the following documents while you have access to the internet with any popular browser in the vast platform of Operating System (OS) The document to upload needs to be in JPEG, PNG or PDF under 2Mb of data.
Proof of Identity (PoI): Documents like a Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Government-issued ID cards or ST, SC & OBC.
Proof of Address (PoA): Recent utility bills (electricity, gas), bank statements, Voter ID, passport, ration card, property tax receipts or ST, SC & OBC
To Access this service user need to go online
- Visit the [MyAadhaar Portal](https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in).
- Log in using your Aadhaar number and One Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.
- Select the demographic details you wish to update.
- Upload the necessary scanned documents.
- A Service Request Number (SRN) will be generated to track your request.
- Logout after update.
Alternatively if the user can’t access the service online, go through physical service centers or visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra or enrollment center. Submit your documents and undergo biometric verification if necessary. A service fee will be charged by the center for processing fee, convenient fee, bills, rent, and other surcharges. Ask for Service Request Number (SRN) receipt to track your request to UIDAI for your Aadhaar demographic update at the end of service session with the physical service provider.
