Hulunbuir, Sep 16: India clinched a spot in the final of the Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament with a decisive 4-1 victory over South Korea in the semi-final at the Mogi Hockey Training Base on Monday.
The team was led by captain Harmanpreet Singh, who scored twice, and also saw goals from Uttam Singh and Jermanpreet Singh. India’s dominant performance was marked by their effective field goal execution and control of the game.
Uttam Singh scored the first goal in the opening quarter, finishing a cross from the left. Harmanpreet Singh added two more goals from penalty corners, and Jermanpreet Singh rounded out the scoring.
Goalkeeper Suraj Karkera played a key role, making crucial saves in the second and fourth quarters. India outperformed South Korea with 20 circle entries compared to South Korea’s 16 and controlled possession throughout the match.
India will face hosts China in the final, set for Tuesday, September 17. The upcoming match is highly anticipated as India seeks to secure another title in the tournament.
