Jiribam, Sept 16: A coordinated search by the Jiribam District Police, CRPF, and 39 Assam Rifles in Mongbung village led to the recovery of a substantial arms and ammunition cache on Sunday. The operation, conducted from 9:30 a.m. to 11:10 a.m., was part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and tackle illegal activities in the region.
Among the items seized were a .32 caliber pistol, two magazines, and various live ammunition rounds, including 7.62×51 mm, 5.56×45 mm, and 7.62×39 mm. Additionally, sixteen Pompi bombs, five hundred sixty empty 12 bore ammunition cases, eleven live rounds of 12 bore ammunition with an ammunition belt, eighteen empty 8 mm cases, and one hundred five empty .303 caliber cases were recovered.
This operation highlights the security forces’ commitment to maintaining peace and preventing illegal arms activities.
