Modi Highlights Government’s First 100 Days Achievements and Future Ambitions at Global Renewable Energy Expo

Gandhinagar, Sep 16:   Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday underscored the government’s accomplishments and future plans as it marks its first 100 days in office. Speaking at the fourth Global Renewable Energy Investors’ Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST), he emphasized the country’s ambition to become the world’s third-largest economy.

PM Modi highlighted ongoing efforts, including the construction of seven crore new homes, surpassing the populations of many countries, and the distribution of four crore houses in previous terms. Recent decisions include establishing 12 new industrial cities, approving eight high-speed road projects, launching over 15 semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains, and creating a Rs 1 trillion research fund.

He also noted significant progress in green energy, such as a Rs 7,000 crore scheme for offshore wind energy projects and plans to generate 31,000 megawatts of hydropower with a Rs 12,000 crore investment.

PM Modi emphasized India’s commitment to renewable energy, with goals to achieve 500 GW of renewable power by 2030 and becoming the first G20 nation to meet Paris climate targets nine years early. The ‘PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme’ aims to enable households to produce their own power, with over 1.30 crore families registered and installations completed in 3.25 lakh homes.

He concluded by stating that India is laying a strong foundation for long-term progress, positioning itself as a significant player in global energy and economic development.
