Guwahati, Sept 17:   Dhemaji Police have apprehended three individuals on Tuesday in connection with the alleged leak of used question papers from the recent Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE). The arrests follow the widespread circulation of the leaked paper on social media.

The individuals arrested include Mangal Singh Basumatary, a photographer; Manohar Narzary, an invigilator at the Upendra National Academy Examination Centre; and Dwijen Boro, a candidate implicated in the scandal. Basumatary, who worked as a photographer for the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) at the exam center in Simen Chapori, Dhemaji district, has admitted to taking photos of the used question paper after the examination ended at 1:30 pm and sharing them with others. His mobile devices have been seized for further investigation.

Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh suggested that the leak could be part of a broader “criminal conspiracy” aimed at discrediting the recruitment process. He assured that the investigation is continuing to determine the full extent of the conspiracy.
