New Delhi, Sept 21: Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, who is currently serving as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff, has been appointed as the next Chief of the Air Staff. He will succeed Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, taking over the role on the afternoon of September 30.
Air Marshal Singh was commissioned into the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot in December 1984. Over his nearly 40-year career, he has held numerous command, staff, instructional, and international positions. He is a graduate of the National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College, and National Defence College. Singh is also a Qualified Flying Instructor and Experimental Test Pilot, with more than 5,000 flying hours across various aircraft.
