New Delhi, Sept 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for the United States to participate in the 6th annual Quad Leaders’ Summit, scheduled to take place in Wilmington, Delaware. The summit, which begins past midnight, will cover a range of key issues including climate change and emerging technologies.
Before the summit, PM Modi is set to meet with US President Joe Biden in a bilateral discussion, followed by separate meetings with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Ahead of his departure, PM Modi highlighted the significance of the Quad Forum, calling it a crucial alliance of nations working together to promote peace, progress, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. He expressed confidence that his talks with President Biden would help identify new ways to strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
After the Quad meeting, PM Modi will travel to New York to engage with the Indian diaspora and meet key executives from top US companies. On the final day of his trip, he will address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly, focused on ‘Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow,’ where global leaders will discuss pathways for the future of humanity.
