New Delhi, Sept 24: Indian companies are increasingly hiring global talent in artificial intelligence (AI) as they expand into new markets, according to a report released on Tuesday by payroll and HR platform Deel.
As businesses adopt AI to transform their operations, 88% of organizations expressed openness to global hiring, with the trend even higher among C-suite roles (96%), seed startups (98%), and respondents aged 18 to 34 (99%).
The report highlights that the primary advantage of hiring internationally is access to a wider talent pool, with 69% of businesses already employing staff outside India, particularly in the tech and finance sectors. Additionally, 60% of respondents cited that global hiring enables companies to tap into diverse skills, thereby strengthening their teams.
“Global hiring not only allows companies to access broader expertise but also fosters diversity in the workplace,” the report noted, with 62% of organizations stating that hiring overseas talent contributes to shaping a more diverse, innovative workforce.
The report also emphasizes the importance of knowledge transfer, as 67% of organizations believe that hiring international talent allows local employees to learn new skills. Only 12% of businesses expressed reluctance to hire overseas, with the main reason being a lack of business entities or teams outside of India.
Furthermore, Indian firms are placing significant focus on work-life balance, flexible working arrangements, and career growth opportunities to attract and retain talent. Despite the rise of hybrid work environments, fully remote work remains more popular among startups and younger respondents aged 18 to 34.
