Senapati, Sept 24: Lao Radiant Higher Secondary School inaugurated its much-anticipated Cultural Day cum Sports Week, bringing together students, staff, and the local community for a week dedicated to cultural pride, sportsmanship, and unity.
The event, held at the school premises, was graced by Major Samyal, Senapati Coy Commander of the 16th Assam Rifles, who represented Colonel Sandeep Sharma, Commanding Officer of the 16th Assam Rifles, Maram.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with a heartfelt welcome speech by the school’s headmaster, Mr. Roziiveini John. He extended warm greetings to the special guest, Major Samyal, along with the village chairman and board members. In his address, Mr. John highlighted the significance of the event in promoting cultural unity and encouraged everyone to actively participate.
Major Samyal, in his address, delivered a thought-provoking speech that underscored the power of culture and diversity. He urged the students to embrace their cultural heritage while fostering unity and understanding. “Your culture is a reminder of the resilience, strength, and wisdom of those who came before you. Let it inspire you to dream big and make a positive impact on the world,” he stated, encouraging the students to take pride in their identity while remaining open to learning from others.
The event featured a vibrant display of traditional dances, songs, and performances, with students proudly showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. The Cultural Day cum Sports Week will continue with various sports competitions and cultural activities, fostering both physical fitness and a sense of community.
