Tengnoupal, Oct 1: Manipur Chief Secretary Dr. Vineet Joshi, alongside Home Department Commissioner N. Ashok Kumar, visited Moreh on Monday to evaluate the public and civic conditions in the border town, given the ongoing concerns regarding the residents’ welfare.
During the visit, Dr. Joshi led a meeting at the Shopping Complex with important officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Tengnoupal Krishna Kumar, SP Tengnoupal Rahul Gupta, and CO 5 AR Rahul Jain. Leaders from various civil society organizations (CSOs) in Moreh, such as Kuki Innpi Tengnoupal, Hill Tribal Council, KSO, KWU & HR, Tamil Sangam, Gorkha Samaj, Hindustani Samaj, BTCC, and MMCM, also participated.
The Chief Secretary gathered memorandums from the CSO leaders outlining the key issues faced by the community and engaged in discussions to gain a deeper understanding of their challenges.
Additionally, Dr. Joshi and Commissioner Kumar inspected the facilities at the Integrated Check Post in Moreh. They also visited relief camps at Moreh Higher Secondary School and KLP Moreh, where Dr. Joshi interacted with the residents, distributed gifts, and assured them of the government’s continued support during these trying times.
