Senapati, Oct 6: Naamai Zho welcomed the Fourth Cosmos Flower Festival with a grand celebration of the vibrant Cosmos flower on Saturday.
The event was inaugurated by Col. Sandeep Sharma, Commandant of 16 Assam Rifles, alongside guest of honor Shanngam S., IFS, Senapati’s Divisional Forest Officer. Shanngam praised the Cosmos flower as a symbol of love and unity, deeply embedded in local traditions, where young suitors present Cosmos blooms as a gesture of devotion.
In his opening remarks, Col. Sharma emphasized the transformative power of flowers to foster peace and community spirit. He commended the Naamai Eco-Tourism Society (NETS) for its dedication, pledging support for future initiatives under the society’s banner, “Friends of the Hills.”
As dusk settled, the festival sparkled with lively performances, featuring the well-loved “Lost and Found” band and a lineup of local stars like Ziikhu Titus Tyaletya, Ng. Atoznah, Reihvei Bernard, and Rang Stifler, who thrilled the crowd with passionate renditions.
