KOHIMA, Oct 09: A bus carrying around 20 students of St. Joseph College Jakhama met with an accident near Kigwema village around 2 p.m. today, injuring several students onboard. The students were returning to Kohima after school when the accident occurred.
Initial reports reveal that injured students received treatment at the Zakhama Military Hospital and later shifted to Bethesda Hospital, where one male student remains in serious condition.
The accident reportedly occurred when the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle, causing the bus to plunge about 40 feet off the road.
In response, members of the Southern Angami Youth Organization (SAYO) and local youths from surrounding villages have been called to provide emergency assistance at the hospital. More details are awaited.
