SENAPATI, Oct 11:   The much-awaited tripartite talks between the Centre, the Manipur Government, and the United Naga Council (UNC) regarding the rollback of seven newly created districts in Manipur are set to resume in New Delhi today. The discussions are aimed at addressing the UNC’s ongoing objections to the district creation, a matter that was last discussed in March 2019.

A.K. Mishra, Advisor to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Northeast), will lead the central government’s delegation. The Manipur government’s team is expected to include a senior official, possibly a cabinet minister or MLA, although no confirmation has been made.

It maybe noted that the UNC has been demanding the Government to rollback the arbitrary creation of seven new districts in 2016.
