Guwahati, Oct 26: Over 13 lakh candidates are set to take part in the State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) examination on October 27, Sunday, throughout Assam. To ensure a smooth examination process, the government has announced a suspension of mobile internet services, including mobile Wi-Fi and data from all service providers, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Among the applicants, 8,27,130 candidates will sit for HSLC-level posts in the first shift, which will run from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. across 1,484 centres. The second shift, scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., will accommodate 5,52,002 candidates competing for Class VIII level posts at 808 centres in 28 districts.

Given that some exam centres have previously experienced malpractice, the government is prioritising a fair and transparent examination process to ensure that the best candidates are selected based solely on merit.
