AIZAWL, Nov 20: Authorities in Mizoram’s Champhai district apprehended two women for allegedly possessing heroin worth Rs 1.54 crore. The operation was a joint effort by the Assam Rifles and the Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department, initiated based on specific intelligence.
In a statement from Assam Rifles, the operation took place on Monday in Zote village, during which the team seized 220.13 grams of suspected heroin from the women.

The arrested individuals were identified as Biakhmingthangi (59) and Lalremruati (45), both residents of Zote village. Following their arrest, the contraband, estimated to be worth Rs 1.54 crore, and the accused were handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department for further legal actions.
