SENAPATI, Nov 20: A routine frisking and checking operation by the Special Operations Team of Senapati Police Station on Wednesday at Hengbung along NH-2 led to the seizure of 320 litres of DIC liquor, commonly known as Sekmai, valued at Rs. 32,000. The operation, carried out at around 3:50 PM, was led by ASI P.L. Khole.
The liquor was discovered in a grey Swift Dzire car, bearing the registration number MN01G-0118, which was heading towards Senapati from Kangpokpi. Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the car and the liquor belonged to Mrs. Martha Hinga R.K. (48), wife of S. Mathias Thekba, a resident of Willong Khullen, Senapati District.
The seized liquor, along with the vehicle and its owner, was handed over to Senapati Police Station. Following standard protocol, the case and the seized items were further transferred to the Officer-in-Charge of the Excise Station in Senapati for necessary legal action.
