IMPHAL, Dec 12: Security forces conducted extensive search operations and area domination exercises in the fringe and vulnerable regions of Manipur’s hill and valley districts, leading to significant recoveries of arms and ammunition.

In Teising area of Churachandpur District, the search operation resulted in the recovery of a .303 rifle, four 12-bore single-barrel guns, one 9mm pistol, one .22 rifle, one 12-bore shotgun, eleven 7.62mm ammunition rounds, five 9mm ammunition rounds, two .22 ammunition rounds, thirty-six 12-bore ammunition rounds, one .303 rifle magazine, and one pistol magazine.

Similarly, in the area between Sarang Tampak and Hrinkhu in Chandel District, the search teams recovered one AK-47 rifle along with a magazine, one magazine of a 9mm pistol, three locally made mortars (Pompi), two live bombs of local mortars (Pompi), and one single-barrel gun.

The recovered arms and ammunition have been handed to concerned Police Station for further investigation.
