IMPHAL, Dec 15: Two men from Bihar were reportedly shot dead on Saturday evening in the Kakching district of Manipur. The victims have been identified as Sunalal Kumar (18) and Dasharat Kumar (17), both residents of Rajwahi village in Bihar’s Gopalganj district.
According to reports, the two deceased were employed as labourers in Kakching. They were part of a group of five labourers hired for a construction project in the region. The incident occurred while the victims were returning to their rented accommodation in the Keirak area, when they were shot and killed by unidentified assailants.
The police have launched a search operation to apprehend the culprits and are actively investigating the motive behind the killings. Authorities are also exploring multiple possible angles, including the possibility of extortion or involvement in other criminal activities.
