Beirut:   On Sunday, approximately 50 rockets were launched from southern Lebanon towards Israel, targeting the new settlement of Beit Hillel. This action represents a significant escalation in the ongoing regional tensions, as reported by Israeli media and SKY News.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the assault, stating it was in retaliation for Israeli strikes on Palestinian villages in Gaza that, according to the group, injured civilians. The statement from Hezbollah highlighted their support for Palestinians and their resistance efforts.

According to Hezbollah, the rocket attack on Beit Hillel was a response to recent Israeli attacks on southern Lebanese villages such as Kafr Kila and Deir Siryan, which allegedly harmed civilians. The group noted that this was the first time they had targeted the settlement with Katyusha rockets.

In reaction to the rockets, Israel deployed its Iron Dome defense system to intercept the incoming projectiles. No official response from Israel has been reported yet.
