SENAPATI, Oct 24: St. Mary’s School 9 MR, launched its Cultural and Literary Festival today, bringing together students from Kids’ Play to Class 6 for a vibrant celebration. The three-day event, which runs from 24 to 26 October, began with an inaugural ceremony at 9:30 am.
The chief guest for the occasion, Smt. Mamoni Doley, IAS, DC Senapati, praised the programme and shared her personal connection as a former student of St. Mary’s School in North Lakhimpur. “This reminds me of my own school days. I’m honoured to be here and see how confident and capable these young students are,” she said, adding her best wishes for their bright futures.
Shri Saloni Tony, President of the Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA), attended as the guest of honour and encouraged students to take full advantage of the learning opportunities at their school.
Esteemed guests, including SDSA executives, the school’s Management Committee members, and parents, were present to witness the students’ performances.
The day continued with various competitions, such as painting, quizzes, speeches, and a drama performance on The Prodigal Son. The enthusiasm of the students, combined with the guidance of their dedicated teachers, made the day a great success. The quiz competition was conducted by Advocate Masouhrii Lawrence, and judges Mr. Johnson Soiba and Mr. Augustine, both from St. John Bosco Parish, evaluated the day’s events.
With two more days of activities ahead, the fest is expected to further showcase the students’ creativity and talents.
