TENGNOUPAL, Oct 28: Assam Rifles on Friday successfully intercepted a major smuggling attempt near a petrol pump in Moreh, Tengnoupal District, seizing Burmese Areca nuts worth an estimated ₹17.28 lakh.
During a routine vehicle check, troops noticed two vehicles approaching from the direction of Moreh. As they moved closer, both drivers abandoned their vehicles and fled into the nearby jungle, raising suspicions.
