PAOMATA, Nov 11: The Khumai Youth and Students’ Organisation (KYSO) ushered in a new era with the swearing-in ceremony of its newly elected Executive Council for the 2024-2026 term. The event was held on November 11 at the KYSO office (Yemai), following the general election held on November 3, 2024. It was attended by Khumai village authorities, elders, outgoing executives, members of the Assembly Affairs and well-wishers reinforcing KYSO’s dedication to youth empowerment and community development in Khumai village.
The newly elected executive team is led by President Mr. Traole Rai, Vice President Mr. Lohrii Yunii-o, and General Secretary Mr. Kh Danii. Supporting them are Assistant General Secretary Mr. H Vishenii, Finance Secretary Mr. Woba Simon, Games and Sports Secretary Mr. Lohrii Thezii, and Assistant Games and Sports Secretary Mr. Ashe Shedu. Other key members include Social and Cultural Secretary Mr. Sh Dakhu, Education and Statistics Secretary Mr. H Makio, Information and Publicity Secretary Mr. D Athikho, and Women’s Coordinators Miss Kharou Sh and Miss Athene D.
The assembly also elected its Speaker Mr. Athikho Pulle, Secretary Mr. Dai Pao, and Chief Auditor Mr. H Aaron Arow, along with members Mr. Pow Thekho and Mr. A Jonah, as well as advisors Mr. Sanii Huzii, Mr. L David, and Mr. Sh Rollen, who all expressed their support for the new leadership.
The ceremony highlighted KYSO’s mission to empower youth, preserve cultural heritage, and expand educational and social opportunities in the community and excel in sport. Village elders closed the event with motivating words, urging the new leaders to carry out their responsibilities with humility and dedication.
With the new leadership in place, KYSO looks forward to a productive term focused on the welfare of Khumai village and inspiring future generations to contribute to their community.
