IMPHAL, Nov 14: Manipur Police, in collaboration with security forces, conducted comprehensive cordon and search operations across Jiribam and Churachandpur districts, under the oversight of an Inspector General of Police (IGP). The operations targeted key locations, including Jiribam and Churachandpur.
In the Champanagar area of Jiribam district, the forces uncovered a cache of arms, including two double-barrel 12-bore guns, a 2-inch mortar, 36 live cartridges, and five empty cartridges, indicating potential risks in the area.
Meanwhile, in H Kotlian village, Churachandpur district, a substantial amount of weaponry was seized. Items recovered included a .303 rifle, a 9mm pistol, two modified short-range pump-action guns, two modified long-range pump-action guns, five AK-47 live rounds, two 9mm live rounds, four 12-bore cartridge cases, and eighteen modified .303 rifle live rounds. Additionally, authorities recovered 16 blankets, two hats, and a scarf.
The recovered items were later handed over to the Manipur police.
