SENAPATI, Oct 22: The much-anticipated Traditional Food Fest 2024, which highlighted the rich culinary heritage of the region while promoting local entrepreneurship, successfully concluded at Naamai Zho.
The event saw the presence of James Pani, MCS, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Phaibung & Lairouching, as Chief Guest; R.K. Daniel, Chairman of Maram Bazaar, as Guest of Honour; and P.M. Hiinii Batao, President of Purul Union, as Special Guest.
In his keynote address, James Pani underscored the importance of preserving rural heritage through initiatives like the Traditional Food Fest. “This festival is not just a celebration of our culinary traditions but a platform for rural communities to showcase their skills and build meaningful connections,” he said. Pani also highlighted the role of rural heritage in boosting local economies and fostering cultural pride.
Echoing similar sentiments, R.K. Daniel emphasized unity and cooperation, stating, “The spirit of brotherhood is at the core of our community. Events like this strengthen our bonds and promote a sense of togetherness.”
A significant aspect of the festival was the entrepreneurial showcase, where local businesses presented their distinctive products. The sellers’ and buyers’ meet allowed for direct engagement between entrepreneurs and potential buyers, creating a dynamic marketplace. This year’s Traditional Food Fest not only spotlighted the region’s flavors but also served as a vital platform for strengthening community ties and fostering economic growth.
As the festival gears up for its closing ceremony on October 26, the excitement is growing for the entertainment lineup, which includes a much-awaited poker tournament and Cosmos Night.
