SENAPATI, Oct 27: St. Mary’s School, Taphou 9 MR, successfully concluded its Cultural and Literary Fest on Saturday, marking the end of three days filled with engaging and competitive events for students from Kids’ Play to Class 6.
The festivities kicked off on 24 October and spanned until 26 October, featuring a variety of activities designed to showcase the talents of the young participants. Highlights from the second and third days included an essay writing competition, a memory test, a spelling bee, and an extempore speech contest. Students also showcased their artistic abilities through poem recitation, a debate on the topic “Homework is Good,” and various group performances, including songs and dances.
Judged by a panel comprising Mr. Asakho Dihe, Mr. Manglal Chongloi, Sr. Lensa Rosii, Sr. Sibani Horo, and the teaching staff, the event saw vibrant participation from all classes.
The Chief Guest, Rev. Dr. Fr. William Nepuni, Principal of St. Xavier College, Senapati, praised the students for their competitive spirit, recognising their talent among 29 schools in the heart of Senapati. He urged students to channel their youthful energy into greatness and reminded teachers that their dedication would profoundly impact their students’ lives. He also encouraged the senior-most Class 6 students to embrace their role as role models for their peers and expressed gratitude to the parents for their support in sending their children to the esteemed institution.
The significant event concluded with a heartfelt programme that included a rendition of “O Give Thanks to the Lord,” expressing gratitude to God, the Management, teachers, and parents for their unwavering support. After announcing the winners, including the champion, first runner-up, second runner-up, and consolation prizes, the fest was officially closed by the Chief Guest.
