SENAPATI, Nov 17: The Zeme community takes immense pride in celebrating the remarkable academic achievement of Dr. L. Etalakpe from Zenamci Village, Senapati District, Manipur. Dr. Etalakpe was recently conferred a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science and Human Rights by the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU), Madhya Pradesh. His thesis, titled “The Role of National League for Democracy in Myanmar Politics,” offers valuable insights into Southeast Asian politics and governance.
Guided by Prof. N. Surjit Kumar, Head of the Department of Political Science and Human Rights, IGNTU, and co-supervised by Dr. Soihiamlung Daingmei, Assistant Professor at IGNTU-RCM, Dr. Etalakpe’s research stands as a significant academic contribution. The thesis explores the political evolution of Myanmar, shedding light on the role of the National League for Democracy in shaping the nation’s democratic landscape.
Dr. Etalakpe has also made notable contributions to the academic field. His work has been published in UGC-referred journals, including the CREEP International Journal. He has presented papers at national and international seminars and has written articles for renowned organizations such as the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), ICSSR-Delhi, and ICSSR-NERC Shillong. His focus on India’s foreign policy in Southeast Asia underscores his expertise in regional geopolitics.
